We think summer is a brilliant time for being creative, so on our
Make and Create Superweek at Bedstone we put time aside
each day to put some music on and get artistic!
We have expert led sessions offering help and instruction with crafts you might not have seen before as well as time to yourself or in small groups to explore the kind of art that you like
to make.
The art and craft Superweek in other years has been
quite adventurous with it’s projects – there’s been land art which
ended up in the local paper, plaster casts of people, tie dying,
silk painting, sculpture, clothes and bag making, carnival-mask
making for a big party and lots more. You’ll be able to take everything you make home to impress your friends and family.
Bedstone’s art department is really well equipped and even has
a kiln so we won’t we short of things to do. There’s loads of indoor
and outdoor space for you to get creative – and don’t worry, you
don’t need to be a fantastic artist to enjoy yourself, all you need
is imagination!
Make and Create is for 8-14 year olds; 28th July - 4th August.

Your course at Spy School, Bockleton Hall will begin with a secret package of information arriving for you at home before you even officially enrol. The secret password in this pack will allow you access into this 7 day training programme.
You will learn all about the different skills a spy must master; there
will be sessions on Bockleton’s climbing wall, zip wire, assault
courses, the mazes, and in the underground labyrinth (will you
be brave enough to do it in the dark?!).
There will be codes to find and break, suspicious characters to
hide from, strange characters to interview and get information
from, mysteries to solve and wicked plans to put a stop to (we’ve
included some photos of people we’ve met in previous years).
You will receive secret messages from Spy School staff and must
be ready to act on them at a moment’s notice. At the end of the
week there’ll be a graduation ceremony where you will receive
your Spy School diploma from Dr S. P. O’Narge - the esteemed
Director General.
We simply aren’t allowed to tell you any more than that at the
moment!
Spy School is for the 8-11 and 12-14 year old age groups;
13th - 20th August.
Pssst! ....
If you would like to come to Spy School, we’re going to need you
to demonstrate your code breaking skills. Hidden in this brochure
are the 10 jumbled up letters of a vital piece of spy equipment
- find them all, work out the word and stick it in space on the
application form. Good luck!

The ATE Factor is an ambitious performing arts holiday at Bredenbury Court, offering sessions of singing, dancing and drama to Superweekers and building up to a Final Performance for parents and special guests at the end of the holiday.

This performance needs to be written and auditioned for.
There are costumes to make, sets to create, dances choreograph and learn, songs to practice and lines to memorise, as well as all the ATE fun and games. There wasn’t any way that was all going to fit into a 7 day Superweek so this holiday runs for 10 days instead. As with all the Superweek Plus holidays, you don’t need any expertise to come on this holiday – just enthusiasm.
Bredenbury is perfect for the ATE Factor, it’s one of our larger
centre, there’s loads of indoor rehearsal and workshop space,
and a stage. Final Performances in the past have used the whole
sight (woods, fields, entrance halls, the chapel - the lot), with the
audience moving between scenes – very atmospheric!

The ATE Factor is for the 8-11 and 12-15 year old age groups;
21st - 31st August.
The Anglo-French Superweek is at Edge Hill, our centre in sunny (fingers and toes crossed!) Devon.
This holiday is made up of half French and half English
Superweekers. A little time is spent each day practising either
some French or some English to help you chat to your new
friends.
You don’t need to know any French at all, or you might
know lots – we don’t mind! Groups are bigger on Anglo-French,
you’ll probably find yourself in a group with about 8 or 9 other
people and you’ll have 2 Monitors – one French speaking and
one English.
Games are played in both languages and you’ll have lots of fun
explaining them to each other.
Food will be both French and
English - to give everyone a taste of a different culture. This is one
of most popular holidays, and runs for 10 days.
Amusement au Soleil is for 10-14 year olds; 21st-31st August.
Making use of the incredible facilities at Moor Park including
the technology block, laboratories, and swimming pool, this
week is designed for anyone interested in taking things apart
and working out how they work, carrying out messy experiments,
being set scientific and technological problems, conundrums
and challenges, and wanting to know about robot and machine
building.
There will be experts on site to run workshops each day – previous
Young Inventor Superweekers have built mechanical fish to race
in the pool, dragonflies that flap in the sunlight, and giant leaping
frogs.
The workshop sessions will just be for small groups at a time
so there’ll always be someone there to help you, answer your questions or engage in an engineering debate. Along with all the other strange and wacky contraptions, everyone on this
holiday makes their very own Brainibot.
This programmable robot
moves, flashes and beeps and can be told to find the lightest
part of a room.
Young Inventors is for 10-14 year olds; 5th - 12th August.
If you fancy a particularly active holiday then we can most definitely recommend Multi Sport at Moor Park.
Whether you are already good at sport and want extra coaching or if you are interested in learning some new sports or fancy getting fitter, we have it all.
There’ll still be all the usual ATE fun and games but we’ll have experts on hand to do sessions every day to improve your skills in games you’ll recognise like tennis, football, netball, basketball and badminton, and to introduce some new ones such as Ultimate Frisbee, waterpolo, orienteering and lacrosse.
Moor Park is a fantastic venue for this Superweek as it comes with woods for mornings of orienteering, countless sports fields and pitches, an indoor swimming pool, and a huge sports gym.
Multi Sport is for 10 - 14 year olds; 13th - 20th August.
This holiday is especially for older Superweekers. We thought
carefully about where to have this holiday and decided there
was only one place special enough to be home to what could
potentially be some Superweekers’ very last Superweek.
ATE has
been having holidays at Featherstone Castle for over 50 years
and it very much feels like home to us.
This Superweek will be packed with as much ATE magic as is
possible, and make sure that the last week of the 2008 summer
holidays is one to remember. Because this is the older holiday,
Superweekers will be revisiting their favourite
ATE activities as well
as being challenged by new ones and maybe even coming
up with new fun things to add to the ATE repertoire and leave as
their legacy!
This week will allow Superweekers more responsibility over the structure of the week, and will have emphasis on team building and group challenges.
The Final Fling is for 14-16 year olds; 21st-28th August.
