Travel
Included with every Superweek is free, accompanied travel from the list below. This means you can get to any Superweek, at any centre, easily. A Monitor will meet you at the station and travel with you all the way to your holiday.
How does ATE’s accompanied travel system work?
We use a mixture of private coaches, trains and National Express coaches and set up central swap-over points (Birmingham, Leicester, etc.), where
children and staff change coaches. We keep journey times as short as possible, and, of course, the children are well looked after the whole way. (For
some routes, e.g. London to Edge Hill or York to Featherstone Castle, it would be unacceptably long to go via Leicester or Birmingham, so routing is
direct.)
We cannot know in advance where children will be travelling from, so we offer a basic network of guaranteed travel points as shown above. Then, as the travel pattern becomes clearer, we offer nearer travel points where we can. Please enter on the booking form a travel point from our map and also a point nearer to you in case we later find we can pick up there. Last-minute requests to alter travel arrangements are disruptive and costly, so we ask that these are avoided if (humanly) possible.
For bookings made less than 4 weeks before a Superweek not all travel points can be booked. Please ring ATE to find out what is available.
If your child is flying into an airport, please contact ATE to discuss arrival times. If you wish a member of staff to meet your child at the airport, there will be a £50 extra charge.
