Voluntary Work

If you are over 17 years of age and feel that you would enjoy working with children, do consider getting involved with ATE Superweeks.

In order to become a ‘Monitor’ you will need to complete a one week residential training course. Most people find this training course to be very intensive, hugely enjoyable and for many, a life-changing experience.

The training courses take place every Easter, and sometimes there is a second one in mid-July.

I can honestly say that training to work as a monitor on ATE Summer Camps was the most satisfying experience I have ever had. Working to give children a successful, safe & happy week gives invaluable skills for later life and the world of work.

A Monitor

Once you are trained as a Monitor you will be asked to lead a group of children on a Superweek in the summer of the same year.

You will be given feedback on how you have performed, and many of our Monitors come back year after year, becoming part of the ATE community and eventually training further as Assistant Directors and Directors of Superweeks.

Your attendance on the Monitor’s Training Course, and on one Superweek is sufficient to qualify you to receive the Millennium Volunteers Award.
